Basketball was born in a Springfield, Massachusetts, YMCA in 1891, but its real history and development is a New York story. Inspired by our exhibition, City/Game: Basketball in New York (open through January 18, 2021), join us for a series of programs that capture the excitement and evolution of this quintessentially urban game and the energy of the diverse New Yorkers who play it and love it.
