Moonlight & Movies | Smithereens
Smithereens (Susan Seidelman, 1982, 89 min.), focuses on the punk scene in NYC in the 1980s. With a soundtrack by The Feelies, the film follows the (mis)adventures of New Jersey runaway Wren (Susan Berman), and features appearances from icons including Richard Hell.
This is the fourth event in our summer film screening series, inspired by the Museum's new exhibition New York, New Music: 1980 - 1986 (opens June 11, 2021).
In case of inclement weather the event will be rescheduled for Tuesday, September 14. Please note that no refunds will be available if we move to this date.
6:30 pm - Doors open, drinks available for purchase
7:15 pm - Film introduction
7:30 pm - Film begins on the Museum's South Terrace
9:10 pm - Film concludes, Museum closes
Please note that no exhibitions at the Museum will be open for viewing, but we invite you to come back during our regular hours to check out what's on view!
