SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 24
11:00 am - 3:00 pm - Family Activities and Happenings:

Celebrate the creative legacy of The Village Voice (1955-2018), the downtown alternative weekly that "gave New York its cool."

Free with Museum admission! Join us for a day of interactive performances, poetry writing, and art making. Josh Levine and Vanisha Gould will play multicultural children’s favorites that will get you on your feet and singing along. The day will also feature numerous art-making activities based on happenings from the 60s and 70s. These activities are designed to get you thinking and moving freely in spaces that reflect the heyday of the Village, from the art studio to the coffee shop to the park!

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

11 am – 3 pm: Art-Making Activities

Interactive art-making activity based on happenings popular in the 1960s.

11 am – 3 pm: Voice of the Village Exhibition Scavenger Hunt
See Village Voice Photographer Fred McDarrah’s iconic photographs of Greenwich Village

11:30 am – 12 pm & 12:30 – 1 pm: Interactive Musical Performance
Josh Levine and Vanisha Gould will perform two half-hour sets, featuring international folk favorites.

1:15 – 2 pm & 2:15 – 3 pm: Poetry Workshop – free hot chocolate!
Naomi Extra will lead two 45-minute poetry writing workshops based on Shel Silverstein’s Where the Sidewalk Ends!
