Join us for a whole new way of experiencing programs at MCNY! From artist workshops to live jazz, swing dance lessons, family activities, student workshops, and fun for all ages— there's something for everyone here. Explore our engaging exhibitions and discover online experiences that dive into the history and culture of the city we love.

What To Do: Explore our program series

  • Up Close with Manny VegaInteract! Engage! Learn! Exhibiting artist Manny Vega will be on site to lead workshops, interactive art-making activities, and live art demonstrations. This includes Family Workshops, and activities during school break.
  • Uptown Jazz with Dandy WellingtonThis monthly pop-up performance features bandleader and entertainer Dandy Wellington and his seven-piece jazz band. Between sets, get moving with mini swing dance lessons and demonstrations by special guest artists. 
  • NYC Discovery Lab Join us on Saturdays starting March 9th for free hands-on activities for all ages inspired by our collections, exhibitions, and the city we love. Project themes will change monthly. For more family-friendly fun, pick up an activity guide or scavenger hunt, available in select galleries. 
  • Spring Break! Family Activities @ MCNY — Starting Saturday, April 20th, he Museum of the City of New York welcomes children of all ages and their families to join us this Spring Break for activities for all to enjoy!
  • A Walk in the Park: Watercolor and Nature Exploration Workshop  — Join us for art-making and nature-exploring workshops where you will learn about watercolor artist Frederick Brosen, participate in a watercolor painting tutorial, and take part in a guided garden exploration. Workshop is available April 20th and April 27th.
  • We Are Still Here! A Celebration of Lenape Resilience & Culture Members of the Lunaapeew/Lenape community and the Museum of the City of New York invite you to join us for an inaugural weekend of activities celebrating the resilience and cultural heritage of the First People of the New York City region. Events take place on May 4th and May 5th from 11am-4pm.
