Join us this 4th of July weekend at the NYC Discovery Lab with drop-in activities for children ages 5-12 and their grownups 

Huzzah! This Independence Day weekend, join the Discovery Lab as we celebrate the revolutionary spirit of 1776 and learn about the important role New York City played during that historic summer.  

Dates: Saturday July 5th and Sunday July 6th

Time: Drop-in anytime between 11am-4pm 

  • Explore historic maps, images, and touch objects to learn about the role New York City played during the summer of 1776  
  • Learn about how revolutionary soldiers would etch their stories onto historic objects like powder horns and “etch” your New York City story artwork to take home 
  • Craft you own wearable Tricorn Hat  

Museum Admission:
New York State Residents: Pay What You Can 
Children: Free for ages 18 and under
Adults $23/Seniors $18 & Students/$14 – please purchase a ticket online or pay-what-you-wish at the door on the day of your visit. No registration necessary.
