About the Speaker

Margaret Connors McQuade is a native New Yorker and Vice President of Collections at the Museum of the City of New York. Before joining the Museum in 2024, she served as Deputy Director and Head of Collections at the Hispanic Society Museum & Library, where she worked for more than thirty years. She received her Ph.D. from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York in 2005. She has curated and contributed to numerous exhibitions and has lectured widely, both nationally and internationally. At the Museum of the City of New York, her work focuses on researching the Museum’s collections and expanding public access.
