Vogue Ball: The Royal Bloom Chapter II
Inspired by The Occupied City and in collaboration with the Royal House of Labeija, this ball reimagines the Revolutionary era through the lens of ballroom’s ongoing struggle for autonomy, artistry, and survival. It parallels the fight for liberation with the enduring resilience of Black and queer communities and merges two timelines: Colonial New York’s fight for freedom and the ongoing struggle of marginalized artists to define and defend their place in history.
This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
