Get ready to move, groove, and create together in this high-energy, hands-on family workshop! Step into the joyful and energetic world of Cumbia — no experience needed, just your best attitude and energy!

Start your journey with a Museum Educator as you explore Urban Stomp: Dreams & Defiance on the Dance Floor, a powerful exhibition that brings together 200 years of dance, fashion, and culture. Through a hands-on activity, explore the history, culture, and communities where Cumbia sets the tempo. Finally, it’s time to hit the floor! Learn the basics of Cumbia in a fun and family-friendly tutorial led by the amazing Karla Florez, founder of the Karla Flórez School of Dance.

Feel the beat and catch the rhythm — together as a family!

Perfect for families with kids ages 6 and up! Snacks and Water will be provided at the end of the workshop.

Please note: This is a family program — all children must be accompanied by an adult.
