MC'NY Poets Cafe Writers Workshop
@ Urban Word NYC

There's still time to join our writer's workshops! Sign up now through April 26 to join this weekly series

The MC'NY Poets Café is back in full effect but now we are hosting adult writers workshops where Urban Word poets and writers will work with students to develop and hone their poetic voices! This flexible, affordable program is aimed at helping you develop your creative voice through poetry and spoken word. Students who develop original works in the workshops will be invited to share their work at the monthly installment of the MC'NY Poets Café hosted by Shanelle Gabriel. At the end of the class there will be a final performance that will take place June 16th at the monthly MC’NY Poets Café where friends, family and community can come out to hear you take center stage!

Through the transformative power of the written and spoken word, Urban Word provides opportunities for people with creative voices, often those who are marginalized, the tools, training, and platforms to rewrite the narratives that shape their lives and their communities. MCNY will provide platforms for critical literacy, human development and leadership through affordable and uncensored writing, social impact and performance workshops & opportunities.
