SUMMER FIELD TRIP BOOKING AND PRICING
Yes! All groups require an advanced reservation.
To request a reservation for a summer group, fill out a Field Trip Request Form and a member of our team will be in touch to schedule your visit.
*Note: Please reserve a tour with our Group Tours colleagues if:
- your group is not for children aged 5-18,
- you can only come on a weekend
- you require a date outside of our summer or school year season dates
Plan on three weeks in advance.
- Due to the volume of field trip requests we receive, it may take up to one week to receive a response from our School Programs Team.
- Consider your transportation—many school buses require one to two weeks advanced notice.
- Field trips are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis—it is best to put in a request for your preferred trip and dates as soon as you know. It may book up!

- All requests are booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
- *Please note: As we receive a large number of requests, we ask for up to one week to respond to all requests.
- Tours are available Tuesday—Friday.
- Summer Session field trips are available Tuesday, July 7 through Friday, August 21.
- Tours start at 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12 p.m. Limited afternoon times are available upon request.
- All summer field trips run for sixty minutes.

All guided tours are priced at a flat rate of $175. Self-guided field trip groups are priced at $5 per student.
- Each tour group can accommodate up to 35 students. Teachers and chaperones are included for free in the group fee pricing.
- We are happy to call schools and programs in zip codes 10029, 10035, & 10037 neighbor schools. We invite our “I’m a Neighbor” groups to attend for free.

- We accept payment by credit card, cash, or check.
- Details to complete your payment will be included in your confirmation email.
- A maximum of 35 students can be accommodated in each guided tour group.
- To book for more than 35 students, you may request to book for additional tour groups in our Field Trip Request Form.
*Please note: a select number of our field trip options can run for two tour groups at the same time. If you wish to book for more than one tour group on the same day in the same time block, you will need to select different field trip options for each tour group. - We can accommodate up to three tour groups, or a total of 105 children, on the same day per time block. If you wish to book for a greater number of tour groups, please provide all relevant information in the Field Trip Booking Request Form.

SUMMER FIELD TRIP INFORMATION
Yes!
- All of our programs are guided experiences facilitated by experienced museum educators and include hands-on, interactive activities.
*Please note: Teachers and chaperones are expected to stay with the group at all times and engage with the students, the museum guide, and the program activities.
Yes, with an advanced reservation.
- Request a visit date using our Summer Field Trip Request Form and select “self-guided.” A member of our team will reach out to confirm your reservation.
- Self-guided groups can visit Tuesday through Friday after 11 a.m.
- Adults and chaperones must stay with the group at all times.
- Self-guided groups are asked to avoid galleries where guided field trips are taking place.
- We cannot guarantee specific gallery availability for self-guided groups.

Yes!
- We understand that not all tour requests are the same. The Field Trip Request Form is the best place to put any information that would inform how we will book your group(s) (e.g. specific dates, multiple group breakdowns, booking restrictions); this ensures that all pertinent information is linked with your specific trip request at the moment we are placing your tour on our calendar.
- If you would like to speak directly to a member of our team before your visit, please submit a Field Trip Request Form first and let us know on the form.
No. There are no indoor eating facilities for groups at the Museum. Outdoor options are available.
- The Museum's front courtyard is open to the public and may be used by school groups on a first-come, first-served basis.
*Please note that there is limited table seating in this area. - The Museum is located across the street from Central Park, offering many locations for groups to sit and eat.
- Field Trip groups are not permitted to use the café to sit or purchase lunch.
Yes, though we cannot guarantee gallery availability.
- Due to capacity constraints in the galleries, we cannot guarantee in advance that a group will be able to visit any gallery other than the space reserved for their field trip.
- Groups who wish to visit additional galleries before or after their tour will be told which galleries, if any, are available upon their arrival at the museum. Galleries where other groups have a field trip scheduled are not available to other groups.
