Lyrical representations of the city in the Hudson River School style.
Painter Herbert Katzman (1923 – 2004) produced many representations of New York City, his adopted home after 1950. Eschewing prevailing trends toward abstract art, Katzman embraced Hudson River School techniques. New York's waterways, bridges, skyline, and landmarks figure prominently in his work.
