There’s No Place Like Home featuring Maria Hummer-Tuttle
In New York City, there are 8 million ideas of what makes a house a home – but only a select few have the vision to create some of the most unique and breathtaking home designs in the world.
Part two of the "There's No Place Like Home" event series will look inside the home of Maria Hummer-Tuttle and examine the objects she has collected over the years, from the priceless to the flea-market finds. Her objects range from an ancient Chinese horse sculpture to a Louis XV clock painted with characters from an Aesop fable, to a small snail sculpture found in a venerable hardware store, to a monumental safety-pin sculpture by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen.
Join us for cocktails, a signing of Maria’s newest book, Objects of Desire, and hear from the woman herself as she discusses the hunt for—and joy of living with—her favorite collections and things.
