Museum Educator, Family Programs - WEEKENDS
The Museum Educator, Family Programs is an essential member of the Education team that will be responsible for facilitating interactive experiences for intergenerational audiences. The primary focus will be to facilitate drop-in activities on Saturdays and Sundays that activate the Museum’s public spaces and galleries, engaging visitors with the history, art, and culture of New York City. Activities will be designed and geared toward children ages 3-12 and their families and open to participants of all ages.
Coordinator, Family Programs - WEEKENDS
The Coordinator, Family Programs is an essential member of the Education team that will be responsible for designing and facilitating interactive experiences for intergenerational audiences. The primary focus will be to develop and lead drop-in activities on Saturdays and Sundays that activate the Museum’s public spaces and galleries. Activities will be designed and geared towards children ages 3-12 and their families and open to participants of all ages.
Curator & Director of Collections
The Curator & Director of Collections is an essential member of the Collections and Curatorial team that will be responsible for overseeing collections management and care, while also identifying strategies to fill gaps in the collection to ensure that it reflects, represents, and responds to our city. This position will also assess and oversee accessioning and deaccessioning practices; digitization; exhibitions installation; rights and reproductions; incoming and outgoing loans; management of the Museum’s satellite collections storage facility; and oversight of institutional archives and records retention. As a key member of the Museum’s curatorial team, this position will collaborate with the Chief Curator and a team of four other curators to conceptualize, curate, and implement exhibitions that specifically leverage the Museum’s diverse collection, speak to a broad audience, and illuminate the history and character of New York City.
Internships
The Museum does not currently have any internship opportunities available at this time.
Volunteers
Primary Volunteer Positions are located at the Main Entrance Greeter Desk. Volunteers will be assigned a regular weekly two-hour time slot. Preference is given to those available on weekends. Some volunteers will initially be trained only as substitutes. Volunteers who have at least one year of experience at the Greeter Desk may apply to be trained as Docents to give exhibition tours to visitors.
