Rights & Reproductions
Our Rights & Reproductions department assists those seeking reproductions of images from the collections of the Museum of the City of New York for personal use and those needing permission for limited scholarly or commercial use in any medium.
Reproduction, public display, or distribution of an image from the Museum's collection from any copy format (digital or print) via any medium requires the permission of the Museum. The Museum determines and collects a permission fee for such uses. Please see below for price structure for common uses in print book publishing. Fees will vary depending on the specifics of each request, including print run, and are subject to change. Uses in advertisements, film, digital formats, newspapers, magazines, calendars and other high exposure or technologically advanced media are negotiated on a case by case basis.
For further information about ordering and using reproductions, please contact the Museum's Rights and Reproductions office by telephone at (212) 534-1672 ext. 3375 or ext. 3378, by fax at (212) 534-5974, or by email at rights@mcny.org.
