Hilda Chester was the quintessential baseball fan, fiercely devoted to the Dodgers. A former star softball player, she worked as a peanut sacker at Ebbets Field starting in the 1920s so that she could watch the Dodgers play. When her health prevented her from shouting, she took up pots and pans and her famous cow bell to cheer her team.
