Oysters have been an important part of life in New York dating back to before the Lenape used them for food and tools. Explore the digital oyster interactive in the exhibition New York at Its Core to learn more about the many uses of this mollusk, including how it purifies New York Harbor today. Then make an oyster print with clay to take home with you!
Family programs are free with Museum admission and for members, geared to families with children ages 6-12 years old, and include a snack. Activities are designed for adults and children to complete together.
