New York became a city known for its creativity and aspirations in the arts between the mid-1870s and the early 20th century. Visit the exhibition Gilded New York to explore how the city’s elite class expressed their status through extravagant, nature-inspired jewelry and decorative arts. Then, use gems and beads to create your own piece of wearable art inspired by the flowers, plants, and insects of the city.

Family programs are free with Museum admission and for members, geared to families with children ages 6-12 years old, and include a snack. Activities are designed for adults and children to complete together.
