Museum in the Park: Graffiti Mural

Graffiti began to take shape in New York City in the 1970s and ’80s. Discover examples of how artists in this movement, called “writers,” used public spaces—such as subway trains and buildings—as a canvas for their art in the New York at Its Core gallery World City, 1898-2012. Create a nickname or “tag” for yourself and add your signature design to our graffiti mural!
This free Family Program takes place in Poor Richards Playground (E. 109th St. between Second and Third Avenues) and is geared to families with children ages 6-12 years old. Activities are designed for adults and children to complete together.
