Join the Museum of the City of New York and our neighbors up and down Museum Mile for the 45th Annual Museum Mile Festival.
2023 marks 100 years since the founding of the Museum of the City of New York and we are looking forward to celebrating our Centennial with you! We will be open and FREE from 6–9pm for you to explore our exciting exhibitions that delve into the history, culture, and spirit of NYC. Tour our newest exhibition This is New York: 100 Years of the City in Art and Pop Culture; our first photography triennial, New York Now: Home, or Food in New York: Bigger Than the Plate— and make sure to grab a Kids’ Activity Guide for the little ones.
Museum Mile 2023
Throughout the evening, join us for music, dancing, and art-making activities for all ages. The Dynamic Rockers—Kid Glyde, Indio, and Rinto—will lead breakdancing lessons with music curated by DJ Johnny Famous and provided by Hush Tours. Continue the festivities and make marbled birthday hats or personalized buttons to wish the Museum a happy birthday.

More About Museum Mile
Established in 1978 to increase public awareness of its member institutions and promote public support of the arts, the Museum Mile Festival serves as a model for similar events across the globe. The eight institutions participating in this highly successful collaboration are The Metropolitan Museum of Art; Neue Galerie New York; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum; Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum ; The Jewish Museum; Museum of the City of New York; El Museo del Barrio; and The Africa Center. We will also be joined by several neighborhood partners, including the New York Academy of Medicine, the Church of the Heavenly Rest, Asia Society, AKC Museum of the Dog, and The People’s Bus of the NYC Civic Engagement Commission.
Museum of the City of New York; El Museo del Barrio, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art are members of the Cultural Institutions Group (CIG), a diverse coalition of 34 nonprofit museums, performing arts centers, historical societies, zoos, and botanical gardens in New York that share a private-public partnership with the City and reside within City-owned property.
