Fall Harvest and Husk
Friday, November 28

Discover images, objects, and stories to learn about the Lenape, the American Indians who inhabited Manhattan Island—or Mannahatta—long before any European explorers knew it existed. Learn how the Lenape prepared their food, clothing, and shelters to help them survive the harsh winter months. Create a corn-husk doll of your own, celebrating the harvest and the bounty of corn, one of the three sister crops the Lenape relied upon.

This program will also take place on Sundays, November 9 and 23.
