The greatest chronicler of Gilded Age New York, novelist Edith Wharton, was born and raised in a building that still stands at 14 West 23rd Street. Many other landmarks of her life and writings also remain to be seen around Madison Square and Gramercy Square Parks. Architectural historian Francis Morrone walks you through the 19th-century city that Wharton knew and documented.

Presented in conjunction with Gilded New York. Tour participants are welcome to come and visit the exhibition prior to the walk.
