For Museum Members: Celebrating the "City as Canvas"
Join us to celebrate the publication of City as Canvas: New York Graffiti from the Martin Wong Collection (Skira Rizzoli, 2013), highlighting an underground art movement that started in the New York City in the 1970s and went on to shape art, fashion, and street culture on a global scale. Author, musician, and filmmaker Sacha Jenkins leads a discussion with street artists and book contributors Chris “Daze” Ellis, Aaron “Sharp” Goodstone, and Lee Quiñones; and Carlo McCormick, curator, critic, and senior editor of Paper Magazine, followed by a book signing and reception. The book accompanies the exhibition set to open in February 2014. Presented by Mass Appeal magazine in cooperation with Red Bull Studios New York, in association with their Write of Passage symposium.
Open to Museum members only.
