Welcome to the Teacher Resource page - a growing collection of documents and images created for you to use in the classroom. In designing our programs and materials we consulted the New York State Social Studies Standards, The Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts, English Language Arts Standards, various curricula, and assessment tests. The activities suggested in the guides were created in collaboration with elementary and junior high school teachers. By using the suggested activities and resources, not only will your classroom curriculum be enhanced, but your students’ experience at the Museum of the City of New York will be richer.
The guides includes easy-to-use pre- and post-visit activities, exciting reproducible resource materials, and worksheets that correspond to each activity, topics and questions to promote discussion in the classroom, a list of concepts to introduce to your students before they visit, further reading for students and teachers, and ideas for future field trips. The activities are listed in order of difficulty. We encourage you to choose the activities that best suit your students’ abilities.
