JORALEMON STREET, NO. 135
Opposite Sidney Place between Clinton and Henry Streets
MAY 14, 1936. ABBOTT FILE 120

Built circa 1833, this Federal house was originally part of the Remsen farm and by Abbott's day was lodged between two small apartment buildings. Mrs. Morton Cross Fitch purchased the house in 1920, and although a "for sale" sign hung on the house when Abbott photographed it in 1936, Mrs. Fitch was still living there in 1939. Protected within the Brooklyn Heights Historic District, the house is intact today but extremely run down.
